Bolton Athletics was born from a vision to give Canadian Track & Field athletes the same opportunities, infrastructure, and support found in the world’s top training systems. Our core mission is to unlock athletic potential through world-class coaching, innovation, and access to performance environments that rival the global stage.

The Bolton High Performance Athletics Centre
A privately funded, non-profit facility opening in late 2027 to develop Canada’s next Olympians, support coaches, and inspire future generations.
Features: Sprint Track, Field Areas, Olympic-Quality Weight Room, Physio & Recovery Zones, Athlete Lounge, Nutrition Bar, Education Rooms.

Doug Wood
COACH | CO-LEADER & CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
A member of the 1992 Canadian Olympic Team and silver medalist at the 1991 Pan American Games, Doug has a lifetime best of 5.65m, ranking second all-time in Canada. As Co-Leader of the BHPAC project, Doug oversees construction and development to ensure the facility meets world-class standards for athlete performance.

Alysha Newman
CO-LEADER & MEDIA RELATIONS
2024 Olympic bronze medalist and Canadian record holder in Pole Vault, Alysha leads athlete engagement, media relations, and community outreach. She brings firsthand experience of what high-performance athletes need to succeed by connecting the vision of Bolton Athletics with Canada’s next generation of champions.

CONSTRUCTION & PLANNING ADVISOR
A respected leader in large-scale real estate and project execution, Barry advises on strategic planning and development for the BHPAC, guiding the project toward long-term sustainability.
